Lakewood Ranch, FL, August 1, 2016–SentiGuard, a community policing mobile application, will be exhibiting at APCO 2016 from booth AI-1, August 15-16 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.
SentiGuard is a highly sophisticated, next generation tool that acts as a police force multiplier, using police and community collaboration to help reduce crime. Features include detailed tip submittal, incident/crime reports, text to E911, live video transmission with geographical location to police dispatch, secure document storage, and community mass notification – which together have shown that they can help reduce the crime rate by 50%. All of these features are available with a low-cost front end to the department CAD/RMS system.
Given the recent unrest between the community and police in many neighborhoods across the nation, SentiGuard (created by Optivon, Inc.) strives to foster an open and trusting relationship between the public and local law enforcement.

Since 1988 Optivon has been a reliable telecommunications provider, offering innovative and effective VoIP-enabled cloud business communication services. Optivon’s owner Luis Romero and his wife, Marie Romero, suffered personal tragedy on April 18, 2011 when their son, Julian Romero, was murdered on his 20th birthday. They decided to take a stand against violent crime in Puerto Rico and the United States and started the nonprofit, BastaYa, which translates to “That’s Enough’. BastaYa has been involved in many anticrime events around PR, created community policing applications 3432020 and SentiGuard and most recently created and donated a boater safety application to The United States Coast Guard.
